Sisi Jiang, the maker of IGF-nominated Lionkiller, has announced Midautumn, which is a supernatural dungeon crawler roguelite that has you blasting evil spirits, and focusing on Asian Disapora and Gentrification.

It is coming to Kickstarter later this year and focused on Robin Lam, a recent college grad with no clear direction in her life. She resorts to moving to live with her grandmother in the fictional town of Nambo Quay, California, where it's revealed that the Spirit World is real, its entrance is in the basement, and Robin is to be its latest protector.

The gameplay is described as Hades meets Butterfly Soup, and as Robin you will have to absorb the lunar powers of your enemies and reflect it back on them to save your town. As its protector, you'll uncover more of the story each time you visit the Spirit World.

The town of Nambo Quay is full of larger-than-life characters that you as Robin will forge bonds with. There are apparently hundreds of unique story events where you will slowly learn what exactly is going on in this town.

While the Spirit World shifts with each visit, the strongest characters will remember you. For each run you make you'll learn new abilities and grow permanently stronger, eventually surpassing the town's previous guardians and the evil magic practitioner's vying for the town's soul.

As you've seen in the above trailer, the game is coming to Kickstarter later this year, and you can sign up there to be notified when it goes live. You can also wishlist the game on Steam here. For more information on Midautumn, stay tuned to TechRaptor for more details.
