Today Microsoft itself and third-party developers had news and releases to share about Microsoft Flight Simulator and its add-ons.

First of all, Microsoft released the beta of the upcoming Sim Update 13,  which at the moment is scheduled for a full release on September 21. As usual, sim updates can be tricky, so Microsoft is giving users plenty of time to test them before sending them out to everyone.

Among the features included are a much-needed fix to active pause, accessibility improvements, AI traffic fixes, and improvements to the navigation suites Garmin G3000/G5000 and G1000 Nxi.

The quest to further improve the Boeing 787 and 747 alongside the Cessna Citations is also continuing with some spiffy features. You can read the full patch notes on the official forums

It's worth mentioning that this is just the first iteration of the patch, and additional features and fixes will likely be added in the next month or so. Also, this is a beta, so joining is optional and it's not advisable unless you actually want to help test the builds and you're willing to put up with unforeseen issues.

Moving on to third-party developers, SimSolutions released a video of its upcoming Diamond DA20-C1 Eclipse, showcasing a test flight of this lovely light aircraft.

Burning Blue Design announced another of its upcoming general aviation airports, and it's H.A. Clark Memorial Field (KCMR), serving Williams, Arizona.

You can check out the first screenshots below.

Another reveal comes from Magsoft, which showcased the jetways of its upcoming Tijuana International Airport in Mexico. This airport has been a long time coming, and it's nice to see it shaping up nicely.

Shadescene also provided a new look at its upcoming Langkawi International Airport (WMKL) in Malaysia, which was revealed a few days ago. While the airport is still work-in-progress, we get to see a lot more today.

Moving on to releases, iniBuilds released its Ponta Delgada - João Paulo II Airport (LPPD) in the Azores. You can find it at the developer's own store and Simmarket starting at $16.55 plus VAT.

It includes the following features:

  •  Up-to-date airport layout, reflecting current real-world locations, including high-quality models of all airport buildings & objects
  •  Hand-made textures with crisp, bespoke texture sets, including modeled cliffs
  •  Accurate, high-quality modeled surrounding POIs including ambient lighting
  •  True-to-life airport landside recreation with custom ground decals, street signs, vegetation, parking barriers, and more
  •  Highly detailed Port of Ponta Delgada
