Today an add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator that fans have been waiting for a long, long time has finally been released, providing another major European hub.

The airport is Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (EHAM) serving the capital of the Netherlands, created by FlyTampa.

It was announced a long time ago and it was defined as "coming soon" in April and "in late testing" in August. Now, it's finally available on Orbx Direct and Simmarket for $22.95

Here are the features you can expect:

  • Amsterdam Schiphol International (EHAM) Airport
  • High-resolution PBR materials and ground textures
  • Internal terminal modeling
  • Apron clutter and customized airport detail
  • Detailed surroundings with custom buildings
  • Custom terrain including 3D tunnels and taxiway bridges
  • Animated road traffic
  • Dynamic lighting
  • Custom animated Jetways with multiple liveries
  • 2023 version of Schiphol Airport

We also get word from Just Flight, which released new screenshots and a development update of its Avro Vulcan bomber.

The cockpit's textures are almost complete with only a few bugs remaining to address. Some minor bugs in the exterior models and inaccuracies with the weapons have also been fixed.

The systems are now functional and full flights can be completed. Now the team is focusing on bug fixing and identifying areas of improvement or where deeper simulation complexity can be added.

3D-modeled AAAP, SSP, ACP, TACAN, and IFF panels for the aft cockpits have been added. Special animations are included, like "animated armrests, removable ejector seat pins, animated sun visors, and black-out blinds, and a fully animated center fuel console between the pilot’s seats, which can be moved forward to allow the pilots to get into and out of their seats."

The developers also promised videos showcasing the aircraft's sounds, which should come soon.
