Microsoft itself and third-party developers shared assets and news about add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator, while a couple of airports have been released.

We start with Microsoft, which released a very handy tutorial video series for the newly-released ATR 72. Of course, the videos also work well for the ATR 42.

You can check out the first video of the series below and the full playlist on Microsoft Flight Simulator's official YouTube channel

Next, we finally get news from FlyTampa about its highly-anticipated Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (EHAM) serving the capital of the Netherlands.

We get to see a single screenshot and the reveal that it's "coming soon."

Speaking of large hubs, Flightbeam Studios provided a development update for its San Francisco International Airport (KSFO) in the United States, including new screenshots that look spiffy indeed.

Finally some exciting previews for KSFO: Captain's Edition with some detail shots of the new Harvey Milk Terminal 1, which is an absolutely massive new section of the airport which replaced an aging Southwest terminal. In these previews you can get a sense of what kind of detail to expect from this product, which is being future-proofed as much as possible and includes some new state-of-the-art optimization techniques for smooth performance.

Moving on to releases, Amsim and Beautiful Model of the World released another of their collaboration airports and it's Oakland International Airport (KOAK) in the United States.

It's currently available on Orbx Direct for $18.53 promising the following.

  • Animated Jetways
  • Custom ground markings
  • High-resolution custom ground textures, dirt and other details
  • Surrounding buildings fully modeled
  • Parallax windows
  • Animated BART train
  • Airlines codes assigned to each parking

Also on Orbx Direct you'll find the latest release by Propair Flight, Norfolk Island International Airport (YSNF) in Australia.

It's priced at $13.23  and it comes with the following.

  • Realistic PBR textures
