Today third-party developers had plenty of news to share about upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator add-ons, including both aircraft and airports.
Perhaps the most incredible news today is that we don't just have two Montréal–Trudeau International Airports (CYUL) as we thought yesterday. A third rendition of the relevant Canadian hub has just been announced today as another joint project by AmSim and Beautiful Model of the World.
It'll come on August 1 on Orbx Direct and later on the Microsoft Flight Simulator in-sim marketplace. Even funnier is the fact that all three developers working on the airport usually sell their creations on Orbx Direct, which means that Orbx's customers are likely going to be really confused about which one to buy.
Speaking of Montréal, MK Studios also released new screenshots of its own rendition. At this point, it's obvious that they're counting down to a release on August 1 as well. While the third contender (FSSimStudios), is going to take its time, we're likely going to have two renditions of the same airport releasing on the same store on the same day.
Another relevant airport has been announced by PKsim, and it's Federico García Lorca Granada Airport (LEGR) in Spain. We only get one image and the mention that it's coming soon.
SimWorks Studios provided an update about its Pilatus PC-12, with two screenshots and the mention that it should be completed in about two weeks. On August 11 they'll announce if they're happy with the airport and ready to send it to Pilatus for approval.
If said approval is received, they'll be ready to announce the release date, for which they're targeting mid-September.
We also get to see a quick video from NetDesign of the upcoming Houari Boumediene Airport (DAAG) serving Algiers, the capital of Algeria. You can watch it directly at the developer's Facebook page.
Last, but not least, we return to Spain for a much smaller airport by 43North, and it's A Fervenza, Mazaricos Airfield (LEMZ) in Galicia. It's available on Flightsim.to and despite the high quality, it's completely free.
Here's what you can expect:
- Updated runway with asphalt.
- PBR materials and high-quality textures.
- Legible signage textures.
- Model of the A Fervenza reservoir dam.
- Custom windsock model.
- Custom Buildings and Structures.
- Includes the "Air Fervenza" area.
