Microsoft Flight Simulator Frankfurt Airport and Boeing 787-10

Today's Microsoft Flight Simulator news is perfectly in line with the spirit of the Holidays because every add-on mentioned here is or is going to be free.

We start with an unexpected announcement from Aviotek Software. The developer has been working for quite a while on a highly detailed rendition of Frankfurt Airport (EDDF) in Germany.

Now we learn that it's going to be free. This is pretty big news, as getting a professionally made high-detail major international hub at the very affordable cost of zero dollars is very uncommon outside of releases sponsored directly by Microsoft.

The airport is going to be released in about a month as the developer adds further details, including the jetways, but public beta testing will start at the beginning of January.

Below you can find a gallery of work-in-progress screenshots.

Speaking of free, iniBuilds just released a package including Skydive Dubai airport (OMDU) and a collection of landmarks of the city. And yes, this one is also priced at zero dollars.

You can find it on iniBuilds' store with the following perks.

  •  Fully modelled OMDU Dubai Skydive Airport
  •  JBR Beach Area fully modelled
  •  Fully modelled iniBuilds Yacht, Jetski & custom vehicles like the famous Dubai Police cars
  •  Brand new iniBuilds lighting technology on buildings such as;
    • Coca Cola Arena, FIVE Hotel, Ain Dubai Observation Wheel and BlueWater Island, Al Habtoor City, Burj Al Arab, Burj Khalifa and more!
  •  Intricately modeled buildings around Dubai, including:
    • 23 Marina Tower, Address Beach Resort, Address Boulevard, Address Sky View, Atlantis The Palm, Atlantis The Royal, Cayan Tower, D1 Tower at Jaddaf Waterfront, Dubai Frame, Dubai Mall, Elite Residence, Index Tower, Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Marina 101, Marina Gate, Museum of the Future, Ocean Heights, One Za'abeel Tower, Princess Tower & The Palm Tower.

What about free aircraft? Horizon Simulations revealed new screenshots of its overhaul of the default Boeing 787-10, which will bring it up to par with the developer's 787-8 and 9

According to the reveal made on the developer's Discord server, the project is "drawing to a close" and while there is more to do, the basic fundamentals are complete,

You can check out the aircraft below.

And this is it for this freeware edition of our daily Microsoft Flight Simulator news. Do come back often to keep your finger on the pulse of the MSFS add-on market.
