F-14 Tomcat and Charleston Airport in Microsoft Flight Simulator

Third-party developers provided a new look and more details about a relevant upcoming aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator and released an airport.

We start with Indiafoxtecho and Heatblur, which gave more insight into the upcoming F-14 Tomcat based on Heatblur's highly-rated version for DCS World

We hear that the developers have completed a build that matches their release requirements so they're now going to work on the documentation and launch process.

The aircraft will come with true-to-life procedures and an accurate flight model, 37 historically accurate liveries, cosmetic weapons (also for the official marketplace version via a free additional download), and highly-detailed static (at least at launch) Forrestal-class carriers.

The aircraft also features a simplified version of Heatblur's Jester interface providing the ability to give your Radar Intercept Officer orders and request his support as follows:

  • voice-assisted checklists
  • INS alignment and navigation
  • TACAN and ICLS selection
  • TID options
  • Basic RADAR operation
  • Communications
  • Loadout configuration

A similar menu is available in the RIO station with options for autopilot operations. DCS fans may be familiar with Jester's sarcastic comments when your landing isn't great, and these are coming as well.

Moving on to airport releases, DominicDesignTeam launched Charleston International Airport (KCHS) in South Carolina, United States.

It's available on Simmarket for $23.38 and comes with the following features:

  • PBR Textures
  • Dynamic Lighting
  • Real Ground Markings
  • Custom, painstakingly hand-crafted pavement, showcasing all imperfections including dirt
  • Custom jetway
  • Custom animation object, passenger animation , train airport animation ...
  • ADD AI Aircraft parking code
  • Ground layer custom

As usual, please keep in mind that you can check out TechRaptor daily for regular Microsoft Flight Simulator news, providing you with the navigation aids needed to keep track of the incredibly dynamic add-on market for the sim.
