Today's Microsoft Flight Simulator news all comes from Aerosoft, with the well-known third-party developer showcasing its Airbus A330 and the upcoming Oslo Airport.
We start with the long-haul aircraft, which has indeed been in development for a long time. This time around the developer revealed a single screenshot, but it's one that shines the spotlight on the A330's level of visual detail. ù
Specifically, we see the big jet parked at (I believe) Munich airport, showing off its nose landing gear and the ground power unit used on the apron. Notable are the ultra-detailed decals of the readable servicing chart on the landing gear strut, and the grease points.
As mentioned above, the aircraft has been in development for a long time, so long that I've honestly forgotten when it was announced, but if I'm not mistaken, it was mentioned even before the initial release of the CRJ.
Unfortunately, we still don't have a release date, so we probably shouldn't expect it for Christmas.
We get even more screenshots from Jo Erlend Sund, the star developer who is working on Oslo Gardermoen Airport (ENGM) serving the capital of Norway.
The screenshots certainly look awesome, showing off the level of quality that has made Jo one of the most well-known developers in the industry. Unfortunately, quality takes time, and we hear that the beta testing will run into the next year. This is another one we won't get for Christmas.
