Multiplayer tactical FPS Boundary has received a massive year-end update that adds tons of new content, including a PvE game mode and much more.

The new PvE mode offers three difficulty levels and allows players to take on AI enemies together, with more XP being awarded depending on which difficulty you opt for. Up to 5 players can work together to take down bots in this mode.

At the moment, only the Rush game mode is supported, but more could be on the way given that developer Surgical Scalpels says only Rush is available "for the time being".

Boundary has a ton of new content to enjoy as part of its latest update.

Other new additions include a Quick Match menu option, which lets you jump into the action as quickly as possible without needing to set tons of parameters first.

A new Home function has also been added to let you access menus you often use quickly, so getting started in Boundary shouldn't take quite as long anymore.

As well as these updates, you'll also find a ton of quality-of-life improvements and gameplay tweaks to make your Boundary experience a touch smoother.

These include "increased...tempo" in the Invasion game mode, as well as several adjustments to weapons, characters, and pods. You can take a look at the full Boundary patch notes here to see what's new.

For the uninitiated, Boundary is a multiplayer tactical space shooter in which players engage in "fierce team vs. team zero-gravity firefights" against one another (and now against bots as well).

The game was part of Sony's China Hero Project, which sees the Japanese gaming giant helping to fund Chinese indie games.

Previous alumni of this program include ANNO: Mutationem and F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch, as well as upcoming projects like Convallaria and Evotinction.

The initiative also saw Sony branching out into India with the India Hero Project, the first participants of which will be revealed early next year.

Boundary is available right now on PC via Steam Early Access. Stay tuned for more on this one.
