Indie developer Mindillusion has announced their freshman project Life is Feudal: Forest Village published by Bitbox (creators of survival game Life is Feudal: Your Own) will be releasing May 26th. The medieval city-building game aims to provide a realistic survival experience. Currently, in Early Access on Steam, the full game will be available soon.
Set during the middle ages, Life is Feudal: Forest Village combines city building, strategy and survival genres for a realistic simulation. A small group of refugees are forced to start a new life on an unknown island and players must lead them to success. Villagers will establish houses, pastures, orchards, farms, windmills and other structures of civilization to turn the land into their own.
To survive players will need to do more than build buildings. Food must be acquired through foraging, hunting or farming. Other useful resources such as firewood, charcoal, and clothing will need to be prepared as well if you want to last through the winter. In addition to surviving the elements, your village will face challenges such as disease, malnutrition, predators and finding the right soil and water requirements for crops.
The farming system takes into account different requirements for different crops such as levels of moisture, labor and time to harvest. Diseases will be affected by the season, people's diet and clothing. The world has a dynamic ecosystem that reacts to how villagers effect the environment and the real-time weather system will keep players on their toes as they react to droughts and flooding. Players will need to keep their villagers happy and healthy to boost their moral and grow the population.
Players will be able to take control of one of their villagers and see things from their perspective or oversee your village from a bird's eye view in this city-building medieval simulation game. Life is Feudal: Forest Village will be available for PC via Steam on May 26th.
