Fans have been wondering about Naughty Dog's absence at the latest PlayStation Showcase earlier this week, and today the developer took to Twitter to provide more color about what it's currently working on.
The developer mentioned that it has decided to give more time to its The Last of Us multiplayer game, while its developer are also working on other projects including a "brand new single-player experience."

We know many of you have been looking forward to hearing more about our The Last of Us multiplayer game. We're incredibly proud of the job our studio has done thus far, but as development has continued, we've realized what is best for the game is to give it more time.
Our team will continue to work on the project, as well as our other games in development, including a brand new single-player experience; we look forward to sharing more soon.
We're grateful to our fantastic community for your support - thank you for your passion for our games, it continues to drive us.
Naughty Dog has been updating the recently-released PC version of The Last of Us Part I very actively over the past couple of months, following a rather rocky launch that resulted in the game being hit with a rather unflattering "Mixed" review aggregation on Steam, albeit recent reviews are now "mostly positive."
If you're unfamiliar with The Last of Us, it's an ultra-popular post-apocalyptic adventure game that was originally released by Naughty Dog in 2013 for PS3 and then remastered for PS4 only a year after. The remake titled The Last of Us Part I was then released for PS5 last year, and it launched on PC this year.
A sequel, titled The Last of Us Part II was released to critical acclaim for PS4 in 2020, while Naughty Dog is currently working on the multiplayer title set in the franchise's world about which we know and have seen very little, but is said to be one of the developer's most ambitious projects.
A TV show has recently aired on HBO and HBO Max, and it has been met with widespread praise from critics and fans. It has been renewed for season 2 after just two episodes, which is definitely a testimony to its success and to how loved the franchise is by its fans.
