Do you love 3D platformers? Wanna play one for free? Nobody's going to answer "no" to that question, right? You're in luck: Kao the Kangaroo: Round 2 is currently free to keep on Steam.

If you wanna grab the game for free, you'll have to do so before tomorrow. That being said, Kao the Kangaroo: Round 2 will only cost you a measly $1.99 when it does stop being free. Let it never be said that developer Tate Interactive doesn't love its fans. All you need to do to grab your free Kao the Kangaroo: Round 2 copy is head over to the game's official Steam page. You will of course need a Steam account, but let's face it: if you're a PC gamer you've probably already got one. Simply click "add to account" and bam: it's yours.

Kao the Kangaroo: Round 2 was announced to be coming to Steam just a few days ago. Developer Tate Interactive said it would bring the game to PC with updated support for modern resolutions. If you're a fan of Kao from back in the day, don't worry: the devs haven't touched the gameplay. This is still very much the Kao the Kangaroo: Round 2 of 2005, just with Steam achievements and a modern coat of paint. Nostalgists, go forth and fill your boots. Newly-blooded 3D platformer fans, go discover an underrated gem.

Kao's second outing was actually technically the third Kao game. The first game came out for Dreamcast in 2001. A Game Boy Advance game also called Kao the Kangaroo followed. It bore the same title, despite being a different game. Kao the Kangaroo: Round 2 launched for PS2, GameCube, OG Xbox, and PC in 2005. The Steam release of the game is the first we've heard of the franchise since 2006's ill-fated Kao the Kangaroo: Mystery of the Volcano. This might be a footnote in platformer history, but hey - it's free!
