The future of the DC Universe will be a cohesive one, as filmmaker James Gunn and Warner Bros. Discovery head David Zaslav state that the games, films, and TV shows within the DC universe will come together as one.
In a recent Tweet, James Gunn stated that the DCU will be connected across both film and television, which includes the animated series of shows and movies as well. With that, another Twitter member decided to ask if this included the video games that had been and will be released. James Gunn replied with a "Yes.", meaning that the entire DCU will start blending more seamlessly together as the company moves forward. There were also some discussions underway about the comic books being included in this mesh of worlds. Still, there is no definitive information on that since those are controlled by DC Entertainment.

Now, how does James Gunn come into play with this revelation of the future of the DCU? Earlier this year, Gunn signed a four-year contract that allowed him to run Warner Bros. Discovery’s DC Studios division alongside the producer of Aquaman, Peter Safran. This new division, according to Gunn, will be moving forward to interconnect all of the video games, film projects, and television series together as one giant universe.
With this information, we also learn that James Gunn and Peter Safran might have some other very interesting things in the works. There are rumors that the pair have been forming a multi-year roadmap of sorts for the DCU, but other than a few cryptic Tweets from Gunn, there is not a lot of information on this roadmap as of yet. It is said that Gunn will be in charge of mostly the creative side of things, while Safran handles business and production. Though both are still to report to Warner Bros. Discovery chief David Zaslav, as well as keep communication open DC Entertainment about the comic books possibly being added.
