Today the creator of the indie horror series Tsugunohi announced a new game starring popular Vtuber Houshou Marine.
The game, titled Truth of Beauty Witch -Marine's treasure ship-, will release for PC via Steam on Friday, August 11.
Below you can read a summary of the story:
"The protagonist finds himself a new crew member on a pirate ship led by Houshou Marine! The main character is still delighted to see the real Houshou Marine's good looks, and he is hard at work.
However, a vague question arises in his mind. Where the hell are the other members of the pirate ship? He realizes something he shouldn't have, and one by one, horror after horror strikes him!"
if you're unfamiliar with Tsugunohi, it's a J-horror series by Japanese indie developer ImCyan, which has gained cult popularity among fans and streamers, including Vtubers, so the collaboration certainly isn't farfetched. As a matter of fact, imCyan already collaborated with Inugami Korone for Evil God Korone in 2021.
The series' theme is "horror experiences that invade the everyday" and the gameplay focuses on a side-scrolling experience that prompts the player to walk left as fear takes over.
Houshou Marine is a well-known Vtuber associated with the Hololive agency, and this isn't her first game rodeo. She already starred in the visual novel Aquarium, which focuses on her colleague Minato Aqua and will finally be localized in English in October with the PC release.
Another popular Vtuber, Kson, will star in Sega's Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
