Legendary Japanese developer Hideki Kamiya has been releasing some interesting videos following his departure from PlatinumGames, and today he shared a new one.

During a ten-minute long video with English subtitles, Kamiya-san commented on the future of the Bayonetta series which he directed for its first two chapters and supervised for the third.

He mentioned that he envisioned 9 episodes for the series and that he wanted to grow the franchise as the "Bayonetta Saga" but now it seems that he "may have to take the full saga to the grave" with him, and that's a pity. That being said, he doesn't own the IP and he thinks that PlatinumGames will probably keep it going.

Kamiya-san also responded to a question asking whether he'd like to work with Capcom on a new Viewtiful Joe game or a true Okami sequel.

He explained that he actually has a complete story for a third Viewtiful Joe all thought out and always wanted to make it. He wonders whether Capcom would let him work on it.

He also feels that he left Okami unfinished, and he would be happy if he could make a sequel happen. He concluded by saying "Capcom-san, I'm waiting for your offer. Please contact me here!"

We even hear Kamiya-san comment about the possibility of a collaboration with Tomonobu Itagaki (Creator of Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive). He gets this kind of comment a lot, also mentioning other creators like Yoko Taro or Hideo Kojima, but he believes it would be a "disaster."

He explained that game development doesn't work like Dragon Ball in which Goku fuses with other characters. Two creators with different personalities and ideas would clash, and there's no way to make a decent game like that.

He cited the Japanese proverb "too many captains will steer the ship up a mountain" to explain his position.

Interestingly, in Kamiya-san also explained the logic behind his infamous Twitter blocking, and added that nowadays he doesn't do it as much anymore. Perhaps he's starting to feel a bit guilty about it.

Incidentally, Kamiya-san mentioned in one of his previous videos that he won't be able to work in the gaming industry for a year, likely due to a non-compete clause in his contract with PlatinumGames.
