Arrowhead Game Studios has announced that it's raised the maximum server cap for Helldivers 2, thus hopefully making players' ongoing login woes a little more bearable.
Speaking via X (formerly known as Twitter), Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt says Helldivers 2's maximum server cap has been increased to 700,000, which Pilestedt believes will make the wait times to get into the game "much more bearable".
However, Pilestedt does warn that he still believes the new cap will be reached, which means that you'll likely still have to wait to get into Helldivers 2. The team will spend today working on "some final improvements for the weekend", he goes on to say.
Helldivers 2's server cap increase arrives alongside the release of Patch 1.000.12, the latest in a string of smaller Helldivers 2 updates that bring minor changes rather than major gameplay improvements.
The newest patch brings the aforementioned server cap increase, as well as a fix for an issue wherein players would get stuck in cinematics.
Arrowhead also lists a number of problems of which it's already aware, including missing text in some parts of the game, random disconnects during gameplay, and armor values not functioning as intended.
Many of these problems already have fixes in the works, so they'll inevitably be corrected in future updates.
If you've somehow missed out on the Helldivers 2 hype, it's a multiplayer-focused shooter that sees you and your teammates taking down hordes of insectoid enemies while pursuing a range of diverse objectives.
Since the game launched a couple of weeks ago, it's been beset by login issues, with developer Arrowhead working around the clock to try and make sure that players can enjoy their time in Helldivers 2's satirical world.
You can pick up Helldivers 2 right now on PC via Steam, and it's also available on PlayStation 5. Watch this space for further updates and info.
