THQ Nordic has announced a Gothic II Switch port for next month.
The port, which is titled Gothic II Complete Classic, will follow last month's Switch port of the original 2001 Gothic, and will head to Nintendo's console in late November.
Like that game, it will feature visual and performance tweaks, as well as controller support (naturally).
Gothic II on Switch will also include the game's Night of the Raven expansion, which brings new weapons, quests, and enemies, as well as a whole new region to explore.
You can check out the announcement trailer for the Gothic II Switch port, which shows off some of the game's grounded dark fantasy action, right here.
Gothic II is, as you might expect, the followup to Gothic. It was originally released for PC in 2003 (2002 in Germany) and takes place in Khorinis, which is also where Gothic is set.
Rumors have begun to swirl about new threats to Khorinis, including dragons, sinister men in black robes, and orcish uprisings.
It's up to you to investigate these rumors, as well as to look into "a powerful weapon created by the God of Darkness himself", according to THQ Nordic. That sounds like something you'll want to nip in the bud quickly.
These two Gothic ports could well precipitate a Switch release for the third game as well, and if THQ Nordic keeps moving as fast as it seems to be right now, that announcement might not be too far off.
In addition, we might soon hear something about the Gothic remake, which is still in development over at Alkimia Interactive and which is currently slated for release in the second half of 2024.
Until then, you've got this Gothic II Switch port to look forward to. It launches for Nintendo's console on November 29th and will set you back $29.99 or your local equivalent.
