Game of Thrones: Tale of Crows has been revealed by Devolver Digital as a new "real-time idle game" that will explore the early days of the Night's Watch, exclusively available on Apple Arcade.

Check out the Game of Thrones: Tale of Crows Apple Arcade trailer to get a feel for what Silly Studio and Devolver Digital is going for with this new game:

There have been a fair few Game of Thrones games launched over the years like Reigns: Game of Thrones and Game of Thrones: Oathbreaker, but this new title is taking a somewhat different approach by exploring a time before the world-changing events detailed in the HBO show and George R.R. Martin's unfinished series of novels.

According to a press release, this new title will explore the 8,000-year history of the Night's Watch and its guardianship of the Wall, a massive magical structure that keeps the wild North separate from the Seven Kingdoms. You won't be commanding massive armies or engaging in intense sword battles, though — this new game is all about telling a story.

Based on what we can tell from the trailer, players will be based in Castle Black. As the Night's Watch is required to stay at their posts, they primarily communicate with the kingdoms by sending out messenger ravens. Presumably, the "real-time" portion of this game is based on players waiting for ravens to return with messages answering their questions.

One such example given in the trailer was "A Raven from Highgarden," presenting players with a choice of two options: insist on more supplies for the Wall or give up and "yield to the wisdom of the Reach."

Where Can You Play Game of Thrones: A Tale of Crows?

Game of Thrones fans are surely hungry for more content — much like the Night's Watch, they too endure a seemingly-eternal vigil as they wait for the next book to come out. When and where can you play it?

The good news is that you can play this new game right now! The bad news, however, is that it's currently exclusive to Apple Arcade on the iOS, so Android players are out of luck.

If this seems like your kind of jam (and you own an iDevice), you can play Game of Thrones: A Tale of Crows on Apple Arcade right now.
