First Marvel's Avengers Gameplay To Debut At Comic-Con, But There's A Catch

Square Enix is planning to reveal Marvel's Avengers gameplay to the public for the first time at San Diego Comic-Con. The reveal event will take place during the Marvel Games Panel on July 18th at 1:30 pm PT (that's 4:30 pm ET).

If you're hoping to catch some of the gameplay but you're not going to Comic-Con, you're out of luck. According to a Square Enix press release, the gameplay premiere will be "for attendees only". We're not yet sure whether the publisher plans to release gameplay to non-attendees after the fact. Right now, though, it's looking pretty bleak. Naturally, badges for 2019's Comic-Con are sold out, so if you were hoping to go along to the Marvel Games Panel you're also out of luck (unless you've already got a badge, of course).

The Marvel Games Panel will also include a Marvel's Avengers performance cast autograph session. That'll take place at 5:00 pm PT and will feature several of the game's voice actors. Those taking part include Nolan North (Iron Man), Troy Baker (Bruce Banner), Laura Bailey (Black Widow), Jeff Schine (Captain America), and Travis Willingham (Thor). The autograph session will also feature Crystal Dynamics creative director Shaun Escayg and Marvel Games creative director Bill Rosemann.

We'll have to wait and see what happens next. After spending some time with the game at E3 2019, we came away slightly unimpressed. It's clear to us that the game has some way to go before it's a polished, finished product. With that in mind, Square Enix and Marvel should perhaps be doing a little more to assuage fears that the game isn't up to competition standard. Stay tuned for more info on this as we get it.

Dark Souls changed my life, and I'm here to spread the good news. I like pretty much all sorts of games, but I judge everything by its proximity to our Lord and saviour, Dark Souls.
