Today Square Enix revealed new screenshots and details about the upcoming Final Fantasy XIV update 6.5 "Growing Light," which is coming in early October.
We start by taking a look at the continuation of the main story quest, as the Warrior of Light goes to the First to seek aid against a new enemy.
Next is a couple of images from the next alliance raid, Myths of the Realm Part 3: Thaleia, which will conclude the series.
A new and rather spooky dungeon is also coming, the Lunar Subterrane.
Of course, with a new enemy comes a new Trial, and it's The Abyssal Fracture.
We're also getting a new Unreal Trial, The Singularity Reactor (Unreal), as we'll face King Thordan again, but on steroids.
More dungeons from Stormblood get Duty Support, and we can see Hien in action. Specifically, it'll be added to The Drowned City of Skalla, the Burn, and the Ghimlyt Dark.
Final Fantasy XIV is currently available for PC, PS5, and PS4, while an Xbox Series X|S version has been announced a few weeks ago and will begin its open beta relatively soon with a release window in spring 2024.
It's basically going to be a kind of soft release as it happened for the PS5 version, as players testing the beta on Xbox will be able to play on the live servers like everyone else.
I would expect to hear more at the Fanfest in London, which will be next month, alongside more information on the Dawntrail expansion scheduled for next summer.
