During the Japanese Nintendo Direct, Koei Tecmo shared a new reveal about the upcoming Fate game Fate/Samurai Remnant, breaking the silence that followed the game's reveal in January.
We learn that this action JRPG will release on September 28, 2023, for PS5, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch in Japan, while the western release will be on September 29 for the same platforms.
For now, we get to see a new trailer showing gameplay that did not appear (for some unfathomable reason) in the English Nintendo Direct, with another trailer showing off more of the familiar characters from the franchise coming later tonight. We already saw the second trailer as well, since it was leaked by Sony a few days ago, so you can find it embedded below ready for when it unlocks.
At the end of the leaked trailer, we get to see a couple of rather expensive limited editions (for now unconfirmed for the west), including one with a Miyamoto Musashi figure. Early purchases (by October 11) will also get a DLC costume for Miyamoto Musashi herself.
If you'd like to see more about the game, which is developed by Koei Tecmo's own Omega Force studio (known for the Warriors/Musou franchise and recently for Wild Hearts, released under Electronic Arts' umbrella) you can check out the original reveal trailer from a few months ago.
If you're unfamiliar with the Fate series, it debuted in 2004 with the adult-oriented visual novel titled Fate/stay night. Like many popular franchises that started as eroge, it has since relinquished its adult nature (albeit it retained plenty of fanservice) becoming a massive multimedia IP including anime, manga, and more, culminating with the ultra-popular Fate/Grand Order mobile game.
