It's that time of the year, and Electronic Arts and Codemasters announced the arrival of their annual F1 release, F1 24.
The game is still going to be cross-generation and will be released for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on May 31, 2024.
The PC version will be on the EA App, Epic Games Store, and Steam (where pre-purchases are already available).
Players that own F1 2021, F1 22, or F1 23 will be able to take advantage of a limited-time loyalty program that grants a 15% discount upon pre-ordering the F1 24 Champions Edition, on top of the McLaren and Alpine 2023 F1 esports liveries for F1 23 that will then carry over in the next game.
This is available until April 24 and at the end of April F1 23 players who pre-ordered also get a bunch of liveries for the new season.
The digital-exclusive Champions Edition includes the following.
- 3 Days Early Access
- Special Events with unlockable rewards (only available during Early Access)
- F1 TV Pro 3-month subscription (only available in USA, Belgium, Mexico, France, Canada, Netherlands)
- 18,000 Pitcoins
- 1x VIP Podium Pass
- 2x New My Team Icons
- F1 World Bumper Pack
The game promises an overhauled Career mode and the new "EA Sports Dynamic Handling" system, which has not been fully explained just yet.
The announcement was accompanied by a teaser trailer, which you can watch below, but don't expect to see anything meaningful. You know how this goes.
We also hear from Codemasters Senior Creative Director Lee Mather, who commented on the announcement
"For the first time, our F1 23 players can now connect immediately with the 2024 season with some of their favourite teams ahead of this weekend’s first Lights Out. Our full reveal is coming soon, and we’re bringing players an overhauled Career mode, a new EA Sports Dynamic Handling System, and so much more."
