Today the 3v3 multiplayer shooter Rocket Arena has been made unavailable for purchase on all storefronts.

The game has been made unavailable for purchase on Origin, Steam, PlayStation Store, and Xbox Store. While the pages are already available, the ability to purchase Rocket Arena has been removed everywhere.

Strangely, no announcement of any sort has been made on the game's social media channel or in its Discord server. The developers have been quiet and the latest signal they sent was about a double XP weekend at the end of October.

Developed by Bellevue, Washington-based Final Strike Games, the game was published in the summer of 2020 by Electronic Arts under the umbrella of its EA Originals brand. Considering that it has been active for over three years, we can consider it a pretty successful game.

At the moment of this writing, the servers appear to be still active and the game is still playable for those who have purchased it. it's just impossible to buy a new copy.

We also made an attempt to ask Final Strike Games for clarification, but its contact address contact@finalstrikegames.com was unavailable, which is certainly more than a bit ominous.

We also reached out to Electronic Arts via multiple channels to ask what happened and whether the game is about to be closed, but we did not receive any answer for the moment. We will update this article if we hear anything relevant.

Update: While we received no response from Electronic Arts directly, users reported answers from EA Support reps stating that there are currently no plans to close Rocket Arena's servers.

Before it was delisted, Rocket Arena was available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. If you're curious, you can read our review, which was actually quite positive, awarding the game with an 8 out of 10.

It praised the excellent character design, the colorful maps and their variety, and the reasonably deep and unique mechanics. Among the negatives, it found balancing issues, bland menus, and some uninspiring voice lines.
