Furyu and NIS America have revealed the Crymachina release date. The action-RPG, which takes place in a future without humans, will launch on October 27th, and a brand new story trailer also expands on the world and characters you can expect to encounter if you check this one out.

The last big Crymachina trailer we got to see was all about the game's action-RPG combat mechanics, but the latest one, which also reveals the release date, focuses on story. The game will feature three playable characters, all of whom are mechanical beings that house the recreated psyches of human beings. If you're picking up a shade of Nier: Automata, you're not alone. Here's the trailer.

The trailer has the three main playable characters discussing the nature of humanity and what it means to be a real human. Of course, the trailer is also soundtracked by the game's characteristically lonely, robotic soundtrack. The story looks like it's going to hit home pretty hard, and who doesn't love a good discussion about what lies at the core of humanity?

Crymachina is an action-RPG set in a world ravaged by a strange disease. A young girl by the name of Leben is close to death when she's suddenly transported into a world inhabited by machines who are trying to bring back humanity. Leben must forge a new path through this world and battle strange mechanical enemies as she searches for the prophesied "Real Human".

Gameplay-wise, you'll switch between two worlds in Crymachina: the dangerous world of Eden and the relaxing safe haven of the Imitation Garden. In the former, you'll progress the plot and engage in combat, while in the Garden, you can customize your gear and enjoy conversations between major story characters.

Crymachina launches for PC, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch on October 27th. It's definitely going to be worth a look if you like your RPGs with a dash of melancholy.
