There won't be a Call of Duty: Warzone PlayStation Plus requirement if you want to play the game for free on the PlayStation 4, but you'll be missing out on some sweet bonuses if you don't have it. Xbox One and PC players, however, are another story when it comes to this recently announced battle royale.

Call of Duty news and reviews website CharlieINTEL reports that PlayStation Plus is not going to be a requirement to play this upcoming battle royale game set in the Call of Duty universe. According to them, you'll be able to hop right into the game on launch day, whether you have an active PS Plus membership or not.

Things are a bit worse for Xbox One players, it seems. Whatever deal Activision may have struck with Sony, it seems that they weren't able to get one done with Microsoft. Xbox Live Gold will (as far as we know) be required to play the game on the Xbox One.

As for PC players, we'd probably have a conniption if we had to pay for access to a free-to-play game. The only thing you're going to need to enjoy this game is a Battle.net account — something you would already have if you've been playing and enjoying Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (or any of the other great games on that platform).

What are the Call of Duty: Warzone PlayStation Plus Bonuses?

While there is no Call of Duty: Warzone PlayStation Plus requirement, people with a current membership may be feeling a little bit left out. Worry not, my friends — you'll be scoring something cool for your loyalty.

According to a post on the PlayStation Blog, PlayStation Plus members will be able to get a piece of timed exclusive content called the Call of Duty: Warzone Combat Pack. This content will remain exclusive to the PlayStation ecosystem until October 1, 2020, after which it will presumably launch on other platforms. What isn't quite clear is whether this is console exclusive (Xbox won't get it, but PC will) or exclusive exclusive (only the PS4 will get this content).

We'll be able to find out what this sweet PS4 bonus content will be when Call of Duty: Warzone launches as a free-to-play game on March 10, 2020.

What do you think of Call of Duty: Warzone not requiring a PlayStation Plus membership? Do you think that Microsoft should have done the same for the Xbox One? Let us know in the comments below!
