Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 is arriving next week, and that's not all that's on the way — a bunch of new content is also coming to Call of Duty: Warzone.

Although Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has been out for a few weeks now, the game has yet to officially kick off its Season 1 content; earlier this month, the developers delayed the release of Season 1 by roughly a week. Now, we've learned about some of the cool content that will be arriving in Call of Duty: Warzone when the first season of Black Ops Cold War launches.

What's Coming to Call of Duty: Warzone When Black Ops Cold War Season 1 Launches?

The overarching theme of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 content coming to Warzone is that of unification; after all, the developers are essentially merging content from three games. This doesn't always work out well — the new multi-game launcher menu is aggravating some players — but a combined selection of gear and operators should prove to be interesting for Warzone players.

To start, a nice selection of weapons from Black Ops Cold War is coming to Warzone, including:

  • 5 Assault Rifles
  • 5 Submachine Guns
  • 4 Marksman (Tactical) Rifles
  • 3 Light Machine Guns
  • 3 Sniper Rifles
  • 3 Pistols
  • 2 Shotguns
  • 3 Launchers (including the Special Launcher)
  • 1 Melee Weapon

This selection of items will be supplemented by the other free-to-acquire equipment debuting later this month.

Also arriving are the first two Operators from Black Ops Cold War. Song (NATO) and Vargas (Warsaw Pact) will be available in Call of Duty: Warzone at the start of Season 1, bringing the total number of operators in the game over 50.

Continuing the unification theme is a change to the way your level will work across Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarCall of Duty: Warzone, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

"When Season One drops, expect your level to synchronize across all three titles based on your current Military Rank or Prestige Level," read a portion of today's announcement. "Players who have advanced past the Military Ranks will begin the new season at Season Level 1. Note that all your previous unlocks from Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare (such as Weapons, Perks, Scorestreaks, or Killstreaks) remain unlocked."

When is the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 Release Date?

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 release date will be December 16, 2020, following the delay announced earlier this month. The launch of this new season will coincide with the new content coming to Warzone.

These are just some of the big highlights coming to the game; you can read about everything in detail in the Warzone announcement. If you haven't yet jumped into the next great Call of Duty experience, you can buy Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War via its official website starting at $59.99 or your regional equivalent; you can also get the game for PC starting at a discounted price of $39.99 on Blizzard Battle.net for a limited time.
