If you like monster battles, match-3 puzzles, or farming games, then rokaplay has a new project in the works that will scratch all of your itches — it's called Beasties, and it's coming to PC and Switch later this year.

In Beasties, you (and pretty much everyone else) live in peaceful countryside villages. Adorable creatures roam the land and you'll have the ability to capture these creatures and engage in intense battles! That sounds pretty similar to stuff like Pokemon, but there's a key difference here — these battles are done with Match-3 gameplay. Check it out in motion in the reveal trailer!

I'm already absolutely terrified of the amount of time I could potentially sink in this game, but a press release announcing the reveal has even more — you can also farm, do mining, craft items, and complete side quests. Yes, this isn't just a monster battle match-3 game — it also has farming RPG elements. And going by the game's Kickstarter, it looks like you might be able to expand and upgrade your village, too.

That already sounds like a lot of content, but there's even more in the works. There will be challenges for expert Coaches to take on (such as taking no damage for 3 fights in a row), challenging Arenas, exploration (including unlocking new areas), and probably a lot more on top of that.

When is the Beasties Release Date?

The Beasties release date will be sometime later in 2021; a more specific date has not yet been announced by rokaplay. This upcoming multi-genre game will be coming to PC and Nintendo Switch.

If this sounds like your kind of jam, you can add Beasties to your wishlist on Steam as it works its way towards its launch later this year. If you don't feel like waiting, you should know that the Beasties Kickstarter is currently underway and you have a little less than a day to secure an early bird copy for around $15 or your regional equivalent.
