If you're a fan of the Atelier Ryza series and you happen to be in Japan over the next few weeks, the port city of Yokohama may be a good place to visit.
Starting yesterday and until July 12, the popular amusement park Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise is hosting a collaboration dedicated to the beloved Atelier heroine. This shouldn't be surprising, since the dedicated anime debuts on July 1.
Below you can find the super-cute artwork featuring Ryza herself alongside Klaudia and Lila wearing appropriate outfits for a visit to the park.
The centerpiece of the collaboration is a show in which 50,000 sardines dance and sparkle in a mega-aquarium tank to the theme song of the new anime.
On July 9 a special "summer stage" event will be hosted, with four voice actresses in attendance, Ryza, Klaudia, Lila, and Tao's. The event will include a talk show and a dolphin show.
For the whole duration of the collaboration, visitors will be able to enjoy a stamp rally (an activity that is extremely popular in Japan), photo corners with the characters, various collaboration merchandise, Ryza's voice and music during broadcasts, and more.
If you're unfamiliar with the series, Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout originally debuted in 2019. It immediately became one of the most popular Atelier games also thanks to the popularity of Ryza herself, propelled by the charming character design by Toridamono.
The sequel Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy was released between the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021 across Japan and the West, and recently we got the third game, Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & Secret Key, which is the fastest game of the series and concluded Ryza's adventures, at least in video game form.
You can read our review of the latest game, in which our Isaac Todd praised the "engaging gameplay loop that never gets boring."
Incidentally, Atelier fans will soon be able to go back to the very beginning with the remake of Atelier Marie; The Alchemist of Salburg, coming on July 13 for PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
