Atelier Resleriana

Today Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games announced the next game of the beloved Atelier series, Atelier Resleriana.

The full title is "Atelier Releriana: Wasure Rareta Renkinjutsu to Goku Yoru no Kaihou-sha" which roughly translates into "Forgotten Alchemy and the Liberator of the Polar Night."

It's described as a "cinematic alchemy RPG" and it'll release in 2023 for iOS, Android, and PC via Steam, with the PC version coming at a later time. Of course, it'll be free-to-play with optional microtransactions.

Interestingly, besides Akatsuki Games and Atelier's traditional developer Gust, Team Ninja will also work on this title utilizing its character technology.

At the moment, a Western release has not been announced, but the launch on Steam at a later time fits the modus operandi of Koei Tecmo when it intends to release a localization, so hope exists, albeit nothing official has been shared for now.

Please consider this my personal speculation and take it with a grain of salt.

You can check out the trailer below.

The story revolved around a brand new alchemist named Resna Sternenricht, and today we also see more characters, Isana, Roman, and Saskia. Resna dreams of bringing Alchemy back in the realm of Lantana, which used to prosper thanks to the art, which has now been abandoned.

If you're unfamiliar with the Atelier series, it's one of Koei Tecmo's longest-running and most beloved JRPG franchises, developed by Gust.

The latest game, Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist of Salburg, was just released last month, bringing back the original game of the series. Recently we also saw the conclusion of the Atelier Ryza trilogy with Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key

Ryza's beloved trilogy shipped over 2 million units on its own and propelled the franchise to 7.5 million units shipped across its lifetime.
