Earlier this year, it was announced that the upcoming 3D Metroidvania Ary and the Secret of Seasons would be delayed until Summer 2020. Now, the developers have made the unfortunate announcement that it is going to be delayed once again.
"As much as we would love to release the game on time, events out of our control have delayed some important milestones," read a press release from the publisher.
If you're curious what this game is all about, check out the Gameplay Spotlight trailer that dropped a little while back:
This game has players taking on the role of Aryelle, a young girl thrust into an adventure after everything in her world starts going sideways. The four Guardians of Seasons seem to have failed to keep an evil mage under lock and key and now the weather is going haywire all over the world. It's up to Aryellte to restore the balance and do her best to serve as the Guardian of Winter.
There wasn't much in the way of details provided for the first delay back in February of this year, and things aren't that much different this time around, either. All the developers have said on the matter is that they've missed some "important milestones," so that likely just means that they've fallen a bit behind schedule.
When is the New Ary and the Secret of Seasons Release Date?
With yet another delay on the horizon, when are we actually going to play this adorable adventure game? If you were hoping to get your hands on it this summer, you're going to be disappointed.
The press release goes on to explain that the devs have made the decision to push back the Ary and the Secret of Seasons release date from sometime in Summer 2020 to September 2020. Unfortunately, they declined to mention a specific date.
Delays are always disappointing, but it's better that the devs take their time to get things right the first time around. For now, you can add Ary and the Secret of Seasons to your wishlist on Steam.
