The American Truck Simulator Texas DLC has been officially announced, and that's not all — a Euro Truck Simulator 2 Russia DLC is also coming, although fans of the games might have to wait for both.
American Truck Simulator is exactly what it says on the tin — a simulation game that's all about driving a big rig in the United States. It also has a foreign counterpart with the older (but still very much in development) Euro Truck Simulator 2.
SCS Software has announced that the state of Texas is joining the game as a paid DLC. Texas is a pretty big state, though, so it expects there to be some challenges to adapt this massive territory into the game. The developers also take care to mention that a Wyoming DLC is in development as well — and that's not the only new content on the way.
Also Announced: Euro Truck Simulator 2 - Heart of Russia DLC
The American Truck Simulator Texas DLC is certainly nice, but fans of the older game will be happy to hear that they're not being left out — a Euro Truck Simulator 2 Russia DLC is also in development.
Texas is big, but Russia is really big, and SCS Software was careful to manage expectations in its announcement of this ETS 2 DLC earlier this month. It's not going to feature the entire country, but this DLC will stretch up to the Volga River at the minimum.
When is the American Truck Simulator Texas DLC Release Date?
SCS Software has not yet announced an American Truck Simulator Texas DLC release date. In fact, it's pretty clearly stated that it might not launch in 2021 at all.
"t should be emphasized that the Texas DLC is still very early in development," SCS Software explained in its announcement. "Being one of the largest U.S states, it will bring its own challenges during the various stages of production. Whilst we know many of you are very excited about this HUGE addition to American Truck Simulator, we cannot commit to a release date that is within the year."
When is the Euro Truck Simulator 2 Russia DLC Release Date?
As with Texas, the Euro Truck Simulator 2 Russia DLC release date has also not yet been announced. This, too, is a massive project and SCS Software has a habit of not releasing a DLC until it's satisfied with its quality.
For now, fans of both games can look forward to the Iberia DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2 arriving sometime in April 2021. You can keep up with their development by adding American Truck Simulator's Wyoming and Texas DLCs and Euro Truck Simulator 2's Iberia and Russia DLCs to your wishlist on Steam.
You can also buy American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 on Steam right now, each at the price of $19.99 or your regional equivalent. Both games also have a demo if you'd like to try them out before buying — there's already a ton of content for you to enjoy in both cases!
