Tyranny is a story-driven RPG where you take the shoes of a Fatebinder, an arbiter of law. You are in a world that has been devastated by war and conquered by a tyrant. You can decide to either strengthen the hold that the current regime has or try to acquire more power. Unlike other titles, you're not a nobody who rises through the ranks but instead an important officer that has a considerable amount of power and resources at their disposal.
Like other games in the CRPG genre, the game has tactical real-time-with-pause combat with a modern presentation and party mechanics. The world is yours to mold, and you only must decide whether to change the world in a way that will benefit others or yourself.
