Mighty No. 9 is an action-platformer headed up by Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune, and it's intended as an homage to Inafune's earlier series.
Like Mega Man, Mighty No. 9 tasks players with taking down a legion of robot bosses, this time known as the "Mighty" units. Each unit waits for main character Beck at the end of a stage filled with enemies and hazards.
Beck also has access to a dash move that can be used not only to traverse levels but also to gain a series of temporary buffs from defeated enemies.
