CrossfireX is a first person shooter developed and published by Smilegate Entertainment, available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It is the third mainline entry in the series, and also the first to be made for consoles exclusively.
Two modes are featured in CrossfireX. Classic plays similarly to the original Crossfire, which in turn took inspiration from the Counter Strike franchise. One team attempts to plant a bomb while the other defends, with sides switching after a certain amount of rounds are completed. Meanwhile, Modern mode requires each team to fight over two capture points on each map.
While the main multiplayer mode was created by Smilegate Entertainment, the single player content was instead outsourced to Remedy Entertainment. Also unlike the multiplayer, which is free to play, the single player is paid content — though it is included with Xbox Game Pass.
