This week on State of the Game we’ll be taking a look at the Steam releases between the 6th and 12th of February. Overall the stats are slightly down from last week’s, although not by a lot in most cases. In the case of games bought, and not played, however, this is a positive thing as it means more games are getting played rather than shelved. Comparatively though this week was still strong overall, able to attract a solid number of players and some respectable stats.

The mobile smash hit Soda Dungeon has finally found its way to PC and takes out the top spot. What’s quite impressive is Soda Dungeon’s high play time, almost 19 hours on average in the first week. Given that it’s a clicker title, though, this probably isn’t too surprising, and many of those hours might not be entirely interactive. For a mobile port, though, that’s still something to be proud of.

Not too far behind Soda Dungeon is WWE 2K17the 18th instalment in this long running IP. It released in October last year on nearly every other platform however the PC release wasn’t scheduled to happen at the same time. Long time fans of the series will know this is par for the course with previous installments following the same pattern. It does seem like they’re refining their porting skills though as this was the fastest it has transitioned from console to PC.

The trending section was dominated by sales this week with the only notable exception being Sword with Sauce, which managed to get in with a content update. This isn’t out the norm for Early Access titles, however, as most will see a bump in average users whenever new content or patches are released. The rest are just your run of the mill discounts, a tried and true way of increasing your player base (if only for a short time).
