Overwatch Ana Corsair Parrot

It appears that the Ana skin for the Overwatch Halloween Terror 2017 event is for the birds, at least according to some players on the /r/Overwatch subreddit - players are complaining that the skin is misleading due to the parrot not actually appearing in-game or on most of the other animations for the character.

Halloween Terror 2017 is the latest Overwatch event, and with a new event comes new skins. Opinion is, as always, divided as to which skin is the best or whether any are good at all. In the case of Ana, she has a pirate-themed "Corsair" skin that shows an animated parrot sitting on her shoulder for her default "Heroic" pose. This can reasonably lead some players (myself included) to believe that the parrot is part of the skin; however, it appears that the parrot is only present in a few situations such as the Heroic victory pose.

The parrot is not the only bird in the game - Bastion has a feathered companion that goes by the name of Ganymede. Ganymede features in most of Bastion's victory poses, some of his highlight intros, and the Dizzy emote. Otherwise, you generally don't see the bird in the game. Players are used to Ganymede not sitting on Bastion's shoulder, but in the case of Ana it seems that player expectations were different since the parrot is unique to the Corsair skin for this particular character. Interestingly, the parrot appears to use the same animations in the hero select screen as Ganymede.

The Internet being the Internet, the memes and Monty Python quotes have been furiously flying around this issue alongside some suggestions for a solution. Some players would like to see the bird added to the skin proper, while some players would be simply satisfied with the inclusion of the parrot in more of Ana's emotes and highlight intros. There have even been a few creative suggestions such as Ana's feathered friend replacing the sleep dart or biotic grenade as a unique animation. In any case, it appears that a subset of Overwatch players are not happy about this small element of one of the event's legendary skins and they hope to see Blizzard be more inclusive of avians in the future.

What do you think of the skins in Halloween Terror 2017? Do you think that the Overwatch players who are complaining that the skin is misleading are correct? What do you think Blizzard should do to remedy the situation? Let us know in the comments below!
