After spending more than a year in Early Access, the crafting and farming simulator My Time at Portia launched on PC in January of this year. After promising a console release sometime in the future, it looks like Pathea and Team 17 are delivering on the promise. On April 16, My Time at Portia console release will happen for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
Pre-orders went live today, and they come with some extra goodies, collectively called the Housewarming Gift Set. By pre-ordering the game, you’ll get an exclusive outfit comprised of a jacket and ripped jeans, which you can equip on your created character. Additionally, you’ll get some new furniture: a statue of a lion with wings and a cuckoo clock. To top it all off, the gift set adds a few consumable items and 500 Gols (My Time at Portia‘s currency) to your bag.
Certain local retailers will also have physical editions of My Time at Portia in stock. Their prices are undetermined, but the digital game retails for $29.99 on PC.
The game boasts hours upon hours of content, filling a similar niche that Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley do. You create your own character, move to a small, rustic town, and take over a family member’s workshop. Gameplay mostly comprises of harvesting material to build better machines. As expected, these craft better items, which harvest better materials. Along the way, you’ll build commissioned items, ranging from street lamps to bus stops.
In our review of My Time at Portia, we gave the game an 8 out of 10. The praiseworthy, innovative social system brings the game to life. However, crafting and resource gathering can be a chore at times.
