Last month was a little bit quiet in terms of releases with only a few biggies to get our teeth into. In May we can look forward to a huge amount of new releases, including plenty of remasters, ports, and complete editions of our favorite titles.

May 1st

Battlezone Gold Edition (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows)

Originally a launch title for PlayStation VR, Battlezone Gold Edition brings Battlezone to fans without the requirement of VR. This will launch May 1st for users of PlayStation 4, Xbox One or Microsoft Windows. A Nintendo Switch release has been announced for Q3.

Killing Floor Incursion (PlayStation VR)

Released for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift in 2017, Killing Floor Incursion now comes to PlayStation VR on May 1st. This is the first VR title for the Killing Floor series.

May 3rd

Nihilumbra (Nintendo Switch)

Originally released all the way back in 2012 and out on all platforms with a touch screen, Nihilumbra is coming to Nintendo Switch May 3rd. This is an indie action, adventure platformer that makes strong use of the touchscreen.

Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia (Microsoft Windows)

Delayed from last month, the latest expansion Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia comes out on Microsoft Windows on May 3rd. This strategy game is set at the Viking invasion of Britain.

May 4th

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (Nintendo Switch)

Return from the WiiU

A port of Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze for Nintendo Switch will be released on May 4th. Originally releasing in 2014 on the Wii U, this is the first time the game has been released on another console. It includes Funky Kong as a playable character to decrease the difficulty of the game.

City Of Brass (Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)

In early access since 2017, City of Brass comes to Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 4th. This is an action indie rogue-like.

May 7th

Disgaea 5 Complete (Microsoft Windows)

The latest in the Disgaea series of RPGs Disgaea 5 Complete comes to Microsoft Windows on May 7th. Previously released for Nintendo Switch last year, Disgaea 5 Complete contains all the DLC that was available for purchase separately on the PlayStation 4 version.

May 8th

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire (Mac OS, Linux, Microsoft Windows)

The long-awaited sequel to Obsidian’s RPG Pillars of Eternity finally comes out on Mac OS, Linux, and Microsoft Windows in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire on May 8th.  It will later release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch Q4.

Destiny 2 Expansion II – Warmind (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows)

The second expansion for the second game in the Destiny series, Destiny 2 Expansion II – Warmind comes to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows on May 8th. It features a new storyline with new characters and enemies.

Conan Exiles (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows)

Being in early access since 2017, Conan Exiles finally sees its full release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows on May 8th. This is an MMO strategy RPG.

Megadimension Neptunia VIIR (PlayStation 4, PlayStation VR)

The latest from Idea Factory International, Megadimension Neptunia VIIR comes to PlayStation 4 with PlayStation VR mode included on May 8th. This is a strategy RPG title.

AO International Tennis (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows)

There are two tennis games coming out this month, with the first being AO International Tennis for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows onMay 8th. It claims that the in-game players are modeled to play like their real-life counterparts.

Steins;Gate 0 (Microsoft Windows)

A port of Steins;Gate 0 is coming to Microsoft Windows on May 8th. Released originally for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita back in 2016,, Steins;Gate 0  is a prequel to the extremely popular visual novel Steins;Gate.

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Ultimate Edition (Nintendo Switch)

The Ultimate Edition

A complete edition of Shantae: Half-Genie Hero will be coming to Nintendo Switch on May 8th. This includes all current and upcoming DLC for the 2D platformer. A PlayStation 4 version has also been announced but there is no release date as of yet. Both versions are physical and digital.

Tacoma (PlayStation 4)

Originally for Xbox and Microsoft Windows last year, Tacoma comes to PlayStation 4 on May 8th. This is the next game from the creators of indie hit Gone Home.

May 10th

Super Chariot (Nintendo Switch)

A remake of the indie hit Chariot called Super Chariot is coming to Nintendo Switch on May 10th. This 2D platformer where you ride a chariot includes all new modes and 2 players.

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition (Nintendo Switch)

This action-adventure One Piece game by Koei Tecmo comes to Nintendo Switch on May 10th in One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition. This deluxe edition comes with more than 40 pieces of DLC.

May 15th

Dragon’s Crown Pro (PlayStation 4)

A remastered version of classic brawler JRPG Dragon’s Crown is coming to PlayStation 4 May 15th under the name Dragon’s Crown Pro. The game has been upgraded for this console generation.

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux (Nintendo 3DS)

Atlus’ latest title Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux is an expanded port of the original title and will be coming to Nintendo 3DS on May 15th. It contains new story content, additional endings, and a new additional dungeon.

Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time (PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows)

3D action RPG Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time will come to PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows on May 15th. Based on a popular anime, which is available on Netflix.

Forgotton Anne (Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)

The latest from Square Enix, Forgotton Anne comes to Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on May 15th. Animated with hand-drawn 2D graphics it is set to come out on Switch later this year.

Omensight (Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4)

A new action RPG by Spearhead games, Omensight comes to Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 4 on May 15th. Play characters in their final moments of life.

May 18th

Hitman: Definitive Edition (PlayStation 4, Xbox One)

Hitman: Definitive Edition will be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 18th. It will include all previously released content and DLC from Hitman Season One, as well as new skins and costumes from Kane and Lynch, Mini Ninjas, and Freedom Fighters.

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition (Nintendo Switch)

Another port of a Wii U game coming to Nintendo Switch, Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition releases on May 18th. This includes all the DLC (save some DLC characters Cucco and Ganon) with an expanded main storyline and several new adventure modes. There are also two new characters just for this release.

Little Nightmares Complete Edition (Nintendo Switch)

Originally releasing for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC back in 2017, Little Nightmares Complete Edition comes to Nintendo Switch on May 18th. In this indie horror game, you play as a small child overcoming the horrors of their house.

May 21st

The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset (Mac OS, Microsoft Windows)

With Elder Scrolls coming to VR last month, we now see Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset come to Mac OS and Microsoft Windows on May 21st. This expansion will come to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on June 5th.

May 22nd

Tennis World Tour (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows)

The second tennis game coming out this month, Tennis World Tour comes to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Windows on May 22nd. It’s the spiritual successor to the Top Spin series.

One Piece: Grand Cruise (PlayStation VR)

The first VR game from the One Piece series, One Piece: Grand Cruise comes to PlayStation VR on May 22nd. It includes different One Piece style experiences throughout the seasons.

State of Decay 2 (Xbox One, Microsoft Windows)

The latest in action, horror, RPG series State of Decay, State of Decay 2 releases on Xbox One and Microsoft Windows May 22nd. This is a multiplayer, zombie, survival, fantasy game.

Runner3 (Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows)

The third in the Runner series Runner3 comes to Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows on May 22nd. This free-running rhythm game follows on from Bit Trip Runner and Runner2.

Megaman Legacy Collection 1+ 2 (Nintendo Switch)

Both Megaman Legacy Collections are coming to Nintendo Switch on May 22nd. The original collection contains classic Megaman games 1-6, while the second contains 7-10. They will be sold separately and as a collection together. They both previously came out for PlayStation 4.

May 24th

Cities: Skylines – Parklife (Microsoft Windows)

The latest expansion for Cities: SkylinesCities: Skylines – Parklife comes to Microsoft Windows on May 24th. This includes nature reserves, city parks, and zoos.

May 25th

Dark Souls Remastered (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows)

Delayed on Switch

A remastered version of the original Dark Souls game comes to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows under the name Dark Souls Remastered on May 25th. The Nintendo Switch version along with the Praise the Sun Amiibo has been delayed until Q3.

7’s Cartlet (PlayStation Vita)

The latest murder mystery title by Aksys is coming to PlayStation Vita on May 25th in 7’s Cartlet. This is part of Aksys Summer of Mystery Releases, including Psychedelia of the Black Butterfly in April and Psychedelia of the Ashen Hawk in June.

Detroit: Become Human (PlayStation 4)

David Cage releases his latest game Detroit: Become Human for PlayStation 4 on May 25th. This is his latest game since Beyond Two Souls and follows the life of several different androids who live in a world where androids are made as subordinates to humans.

May 29th

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows)

A collection of 12 classic Street Fighter games comes in one package in Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows on May 29th. It includes:  Street Fighter, Street Fighter II, Street Fighter II: Champion Edition, Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Street Fighter III, Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact and Street Fighter III: Third Strike.

Harvest Moon: Light of Hope (PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch)

A port of the November 2017 Microsoft Windows game Harvest Moon: Light of Hope comes to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on May 29th. This is the latest in this farming simulator series of games.

Sega Genesis Classics (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows)

Ahead of the release of the Genesis Mini Sega is releasing a collection of over 50 Genesis titles in the Sega Genesis Classics for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows on May 29th. It will include Alex Kidd, Streets of Rage, Sonic, Golden Axe and many many more.

Owlboy (PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch)

The original release of Owlboy was all the way back to 2016 but now there is a physical release for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on May 29th.

Legend of Kay Anniversary (Nintendo Switch)

Coming out originally for Microsoft Windows in 2015,  Legend of Kay Anniversary comes to Nintendo Switch May 29th. This is a remastered version of the original platformer.

Fallen Legion: Rise to Glory (Nintendo Switch)

The latest Action RPG from NIS America Fallen Legion: Rise to Glory comes to Nintendo Switch on May 29th.

Agony (Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)

First-person survival horror game Agony comes to Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 29th. This game is set in a hellscape.
