Announced via the latest episode of PlayStation Blogcast, King of Fighters 2000 is going to be coming to the PlayStation 4 next week. While SNK is also still working on King of Fighters XIV and the enhanced The Last Blade 2 (another classic SNK game), they have also let us know that King of Fighters 2000 will have a slight upgrade from the 2000 release.

The game was originally released on the Neo Geo in 2000 and was the final game in the franchise that SNK would produce. The original SNK then folded later in 2001 before the founder and head of Playmore Corporation Eikichi Kawasaki, also the founder of SNK, purchased all of SNK’s intellectual property so that the game could then be put on the PlayStation 2 and Dreamcast later in 2000 bundled with King of Fighters 2001.

King of Fighters 2000

King of Fighters 2000 was released last month on the Japanese PSN for the PlayStation 4 and on May 3rd it will be releasing in North America. This updated version of the game includes new features such as 1080p visuals up-scaled from the original, remote play features so that you can play via your PS Vita or PlayStation TV, you will also be able to use share play while playing the game.

The latest game planned in the franchise King of Fighters XIV will be releasing in America, South Korea, and Hong Kong on the 23rd of August and in Japan on the 25th. It will be released exclusively on the PlayStation 4.

I have been playing all kinds of games for as long as I can remember with a particular interest in action adventure and platforming titles. While I am primarily an Xbox gamer I also spend a fair bit of time on the PS4 and on my PC in VR.
