Halo 5 Jan 2016 Preview

Today on Halo Waypoint 343 Industries delivered us a whole slew of new information about the next big update for Halo 5 called Infinity's Armory. Halo 5 came out late last year and since then we have seen a steady stream of new content coming to the game via updates like this one, or during the December introduction of the Forge Mode.

Halo 5 Jan 2016 Full Sheet
The full tease of what we can expect, and how much we have to wait for...

First of the new additions is three new armor sets, the Atlas Armor, Achilles armor and Mark V Alpha Armor. These armor sets were also shown off this morning in action at the Halo World Championship London qualifier. In order to get the Achilles armor your Spartan Company will have to get to level 3 in all Kill commendations for the armor, and to level 5 in the kill commendations for the helmet.

New maps are also being added in this January update in the form of Riptide and Urban. Riptide is a new take on the Fathom map, the underwater map included in Halo 5 at launch. None of the differences between Riptide and Fathom were explicitly mentioned other than a statement explaining the "art and design teams have been reviewing your feedback on remix maps, and there's a strong focus on making these maps feel, look, and play like entirely new spaces." The warzone map Urban is another set on Noctus, location of the Battle of Noctus from an earlier update.

As always what they show here is only a tease of all of the weapon skins, armor sets, emblems and other goodies to customize your Spartans so once the update drops then be sure to try to get them all. If you want to get all of the info and more then head over to the Halo Waypoint blog post and check it out for yourself. If you want to find out more about Halo 5 you can read our review about it!

What do you think of all that is being added to Halo 5? Anything you'd like to see put into the game? Anything you're not happy about?
