This month's Games with Gold for Xbox Live Gold subscribers features a hardcore third-person shooter, and racing fun for Xbox One fans. Meanwhile, an action-RPG and one of the newer Castlevania titles is up for grabs for those looking to catch up on some old Xbox 360 titles.

Today, Xbox revealed August 2019's lineup of Games with Gold, featuring Gears of War 4, Forza Motorsport 6, Torchlight, and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. As always, make note of their availability and download them before they're gone. Remember: these titles are available as part of the subscription for Xbox Live Gold membership.
Gears of War 4 headlines this month, available from August 1st through August 31st. There's no better time to play Gears of War 4 if you haven't tried it already, because its sequel arrives on September 10th, 2019. Gears of War 4 is a continuation of the established third-person shooter franchise, following the footsteps of Marcus Fenix's son, JD. Once more you'll fight against monstrous foes as you move from cover to cover.
Forza Motorsport 6, available from August 16th through September 15th, is a racing title that faithfully emulates the driving experience of dozens of powerful cars. While the Horizon spin-off series focuses more on exploration and open-world driving gameplay, Forza Motorsport 6 is all about professional racing on meticulously made tracks from around the world.
The first title for the Xbox 360 is Torchlight, available from August 1st through August 15th, is a cartoonish action-RPG developed by the now-defunct Runic Games. Players pick a class and explore an open world as well as dungeons full of loot and monsters in a Diablo-like adventure. Torchlight's sequel, Torchlight II, also arrives for the Xbox One on September 3rd, 2019 for the first time.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, available from August 16th through August 31st, is a different take on the usual 2D exploration the franchise is known for. Instead, Lords of Shadow is a hack-and-slash action title. Utilizing unique and flashy abilities, Gabriel Belmont fights all manner of dangerous foes in 3D environments.
