Genshin Impact Version Update 2.6 is out and alongside it is the terrifying new region: The Chasm. Once granted access through the Ad-Hoc Main Tunnel, you're in The Chasm's underground zone. From here, you'll be able to fight the Ruin Serpent. While not as dangerous as prior bosses, the Ruin Serpent has some unique mechanics travelers should make note of before taking it on. Where is the Ruin Serpent in Genshin Impact?
The Ruin Serpent boss fight can be found in The Chasm's underground zone. This area can be unlocked by completing the Surreptitious Seven-Star Seak Sundering quest. This quest will have the player destroy Bedrock Keys around The Chasm's entrance. Once done, the Chasm's seal is broken, and the area beneath it - the underground zone - is accessible. When you're at this point you'll be able to continue onwards to the Ruin Serpent, who awaits the traveler deeper into the mineshafts.

What is the best team for Genshin Impact Ruin Serpent Boss Fight?
The Ruin Serpent isn't a particularly difficult boss, especially when compared to bosses like Raiden Shogun, but it still can be dangerous if not approached with caution. As such, it's important to implement a solid team. The Ruin Serpent is particularly resistant to Physical DMG with a whopping 70% resistance, so it's best to tackle this boss with an elemental-oriented team. Fortunately, most of the game's best units are Element based. If you absolutely have to use a Physical unit, be extra careful, as it will take an immense amount of time to work the Ruin Serpent's health down before it dies.
My team consisted of a Main DPS that specializes in ranged damage. Any bow character is good here, but Ganyu is especially powerful, so use her if you have her (and if you don't, roll her the next time she shows up - she is BUSTED). Also include a healer and Shield character to protect your Main DPS. For me, I utilized Diona as both my Healer and my Shield to get that Cryo Resonance bonus, which increases my Crit Rate further. Building your team around your Main DPS is essential in any fight, so don't forget that rule going into The Chasm.
How Do I Beat the Ruin Serpent in Genshin Impact?
The Ruin Serpent's attacks are fairly simple and as such can be avoided easily, especially with a ranged unit. That doesn't mean that can't do damage though, so don't get caught off guard and lose your Main DPS to one of his attacks. Be sure to always have a Shield up to take the brunt force of an attack and to have the Elemental Burst of your healer unit on standby in the event you'll need to utilize it.
Ruin Serpent Moves
Sand Pull: The Ruin Serpent creates a wavepool of sand that pulls you in, dealing DMG.
Spinning Attack: The Ruin Serpent slams into the ground and spins in an AoE, dealing DMG.
Sand Burrow: The Ruin Serpent digs into the ground, jumping up elsewhere in the fight to deal DMG.
The next part of the boss requires an item: the Lumenstone Adjuvant. This item can be used to cleanse any corrupted ooze dropped by the boss. Personally, I just tanked the DMG dealt with a shield and didn't bother using the Lumenstone Adjuvant, but I also have a fully built, Amos Bow-wielding Ganyu, so not everyone can accomplish this. If not, focus on stunning the boss with the Lumenstone Adjuvant, and finish it off when its weak.
On top of leaking corrupted ooze, it's possible that the Ruin Serpent may generate crystals within the field. These crystals can be destroyed by Claymore-wielding units easily, which will regenerate the charges available on the Lumenstone Adjuvant. Make sure to do this if you're not tanking the DMG and opting to do the fight properly.

One of the key items dropped by the Ruin Serpent are the Runic Fangs, which can be used as a Character Ascension and Character Development material. Currently, there are no characters who use it, but it's very safe to assume that future characters coming in Genshin Impact Version 2.7, Yelan and/or Shinobu, will use it to level up.

Beyond this, the typical rewards of 3 to 5-Star Artifcats, Character EXP, Adventure EXP, Companionship EXP, MOra, and Prithiva Topaz Fragments. I guess we needed another Geo boss, huh?
The prior boss, Raiden Shogun, was a force to be reckoned with. In comparison, the Ruin Serpent is nothing more than a common boss, but some skill and knowledge of the fight is still required to take it down.
