Games Workshop's promotion of Warhammer 40k 10th Edition continues. The tabletop publisher has gone from a small drip-feed of new army rules to bolder means such as revealing the first battle report for the game and releasing the core rules for free. Now, with the release of the Leviathan boxed set a few days away, Games Workshop have announced a new community event for their fans with Warhammer 40k Battle For Oghram.
The Warhammer 40k Battle For Oghram event
According to a Warhammer-Community post, the Warhammer 40k Battle For Oghram event will allow players to decide the fate of a planet in the grimdark universe of the far future. Planet Oghram is a world controlled by the Imperium that has been overrun by the all-consuming Hive Fleet Leviathan commanded by the Tyranids. Will the Space Marines be able to repel this alien horde, or will Oghram be reduced to a lifeless husk? That is for the Warhammer fans to decide.
If you wish to participate in Battle For Oghram, you'll need to do the following. First, you must pre-order the new Leviathan boxed set. In the box, you will find a single-use code. This code will allow you to join the event. Once the campaign begins, you must log the results of your first game of Warhammer 40k 10th Edition using the Leviathan boxed set. Your victory or defeat will determine which faction will receive reinforcements in the battle for the planet.
Not only will Battle For Oghram determine the fate of a world in the lore of Warhammer 40k, but the winning faction will also have brand new miniatures revealed early once the event concludes. Furthermore, everyone who registers and participates in the event will have a chance to win these brand-new miniatures.
The Battle For Oghram campaign begins on June 26th and ends on July 9th.
