A set of collectible cards for the UFS system based on fighting game SoulCalibur VI will launch for purchase on April 5th.
The set is part of the Universal Fighting System (UFS) card game, which pits characters from disparate franchises against one another. So far, licensed franchises represented in UFS include Street Fighter, Mega Man, Darkstalkers, and more. Cards from different licenses can be combined together in a single deck, and characters from different franchises can battle one another.
The SoulCalibur VI Collectible Card Game set includes 12 characters from the game. The full roster is as follows:
- Groh
- Ivy
- Kilik
- Maxi
- Mitsurugi
- Nightmare
- Siegfried
- Sophitia
- Taki
- Xianghua
- Yoshimitsu
- Zasalamel
- Box Topper - Azwel
The UFS card gaming system was originally conceived by Sabertooth Games back in 2006. The first set released was a Penny Arcade-themed battle box, with sets based on SoulCalibur and Street Fighter marking the system's official launch in April. In 2010, the system was picked up by Jasco Games, who have continued to refine and add to it since then. Rules-wise, the game is unusual among CCGs and contains a number of deviations from, or variations on, regularly encountered CCG rules. If you're interested in reading more about UFS, you can check out the official Jasco Games website, which offers several rulesets and ways to play the game.
