Vampire historian Matthew "The Gentleman Gamer" Dawkins has been named by White Wolf (publishers of Vampire: The Masquerade and many other fine titles, primarily in their World of Darkness series) as the company's Senior Community Director in a press release from the tabletop games publisher.

Vampire: The Masquerade has been around for some time now and is currently in the process of getting the 5th edition off the ground. Of course, a game with as long of a history as Vampire: The Masquerade has a goodly chunk of lore behind it that may prove challenging for new players (or heck, even veteran players) to explore in depth. Thankfully, White Wolf has brought on an experienced professional by the name of Matthew "The Gentleman Gamer" Dawkins to create a series of videos that does a deep dive into the history of the game world. The first episode is available to watch now if you'd like to check it out:

The Gentleman's Guide to Vampires: V5 Episode One - What's Past is Prologue goes over the history of the Kindred and talks about the events that shaped vampiric history. Future episodes will be released on July 27, 2018, and then on every Tuesday & Thursday thereafter until August 17, 2018. You can also check out Mr. Dawkins' past videos (many of which are on the topic of the Vampire: The Masquerade games) on his YouTube channel.

Aside from these in-depth lore videos, the White Wolf team will be heading to GenCon 2018. Attendees will be able to play the newest edition of their flagship game right then and there. Vampire: The Masquerade Fifth Edition will be available digitally and in stores sometime in August of this year.

Are you fond of Vampire: The Masquerade? What do you think of the lore in the game? Do you think the fifth edition is adding anything particularly interesting to the game? Let us know in the comments below!
