The Banner Saga is coming to the table.

The popular video game, developed by indie company Stoic, will be getting a board game adaptation.

Stoic is collaborating with two companies; video game publisher Versus Evil, and miniatures creator MegaCon Games, to bring players The Banner Saga: Warbands.

Warbands will be a miniature based boardgame, and currently MegaCon games is looking to generate fan interest at Gencon this year. The only information given right now is that the game will have a kickstarter in the future, which you can sign up to be notified for at the Banner Saga: Warbands website.

No new information is present about the game at this time.

The Banner Saga was a successful kickstarter launched by Stoic games back in 2012. Stoic games, formed by a trio of developers formerly working on BioWare's Star Wars: The Old Republic, launched The Banner Saga in two forms- first a free to play multiplayer game called The Banner Saga: Factions in 2013, then the single player campaign in 2014.

The Banner Saga is a tactical-RPG with a heavy Viking theme, reminiscent of titles such as Final Fantasy Tactics or Shining Force. Further releases of the game are planned, including console ports for the PS4 and Xbox One in October of 2015.

Stoic games have said that The Banner Saga is planned to be a trilogy, with more games incoming in the future.
