Today Ramjet Studios released a new update for its open-world zombie survival game Vein, adding more content and plenty of features.

The update is numbered 0.09 and can be downloaded as usual from the game's page on Steam

Since the game is being worked on, the developer provides the full current build as a free demo, which is an interesting and certainly consumer-friendly alternative to early access.

The update includes many of the features teased in the previous video, like reinforced wood and limestone blick fortifications, the Mosin-Nagant, antidepressants to reduce stress, and better water visuals.

We also get new vehicles, furnaces and forges for smelting (albeit their use is limited for now), new blood material for players and for zombies, the ability for zombies to sleep, some gore items (who doesn't want to beat a zombie with its own severed arm?), and much more.

On top of that, the developers are working on adding a new town to the game's open-world map, albeit it isn't finished just yet,

You can find the full patch notes on Steam and watch a video providing an extensive look at the new features below.

If the title Vein isn't familiar for you, it's the new kid on the block of the popular Zombie Survival genre. While the visuals feel a bit like 7 Days to Die the gameplay, lore, and overall philosophy are more similar to the depth and level of detail that you can find in Project Zomboid.

The developers have been very proactive in updating the game regularly, adding plenty of content and fixes each time and rapidly iterating the game's feature set. The latest major update was in November.

At the moment, the game is available only on PC via Steam, but recently, we heard that it's also coming for Xbox Series X|S, after the official release.
