Today HoYoverse announced that its upcoming urban fantasy action RPG Zenless Zone Zero is getting a brand-new closed beta test.

The developer, known for Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, revealed that the next open beta is code-named "Equalizing Test" and registrations are already open at the official website

Like the first open beta, it will be on PC, iOS, and Android.

Unlike the first open beta, it'll come with improvements to gameplay and plenty of new content, including "new stories and explorable areas, more playable characters, re-designed combat mechanics, as well as a thoroughly overhauled city with new, immersive urban gameplay"

In this beta phase, players will enjoy a new story chapter focusing on one of the major factions in the game, Belobog Heavy Industries. They will also get a chance to get to know the Proxy Network named Inter-Knot, take on missions, play arcade games, pet animals, and explore the area named Sixth Street.

Players take on the role of a Proxy, a mix between a guide and a mercenary, and they will have to team up with a number of unique companions to uncover the mysteries hidden behind the surface of New Eridu.

Zenless Zone Zero is a full-fledged action RPG featuring stylish character action and a full-featured storyline, on top of the usual charming characters (likely available via Gacha) that HoYoverse fans are used to.

You can see some of them in the trailer released today to accompany the news.  Not only does it include plenty of action, but it introduces both playable characters and NPCs that populate the game's urban world.,

If you'd like to read a lot more about Zenless Zone Zero, at Gamescom in Cologne I interviewed the producer Zhenyu Li, who shared a lot of interesting details about what we can expect.
