The PlayStation Plus price is reportedly going up in Japan and Europe. Several users on gaming forums are saying that they've received a message from Sony informing them the prices increases will be taking effect soon, increasing the cost of Sony's premium online service.

Gaming forum PSN Profiles has a collection of e-mails from users in Japan and several European countries stating that the PlayStation Plus price will be increasing. Here's the data they've gathered so far:

PlayStation Plus Price - Japan

  • 1 month: ¥850 (up from ¥514)
  • 3 months: ¥2,150
  • 12 months: ¥5,143

PlayStation Plus Price - France & Germany

  • 1 month: €8.99
  • 3 months: €24.99
  • 12 months: €59.99

PlayStation Plus Price - Sweden

  • 1 month: 95.00 kr (up from 75.00 kr)
  • 3 months: 260.00 kr (up from  235.00 kr)
  • 12 months: 620.00 kr (up from 575.00 kr)

PlayStation Plus Price - Switzerland

  • 1 month: 9.90 CHF (up from 7.70 CHF)
  • 3 months:  27.90 CHF (up from 24.90 CHF)
  • 12 months: 69.90 CHF (up from 59.90 CHF)

Additionally, a user on Reddit's /r/Games subreddit has stated that they have received an e-mail for customers in Norway stating that the price is going up, although this particular user declined to mention any specific numbers.

This isn't the first time that Sony has increased PlayStation Plus' price. The United States got hit with a price increase way back in 2016. The UK, Europe, and Australia subsequently saw the fee for using the service go up in mid-2017. Now it seems that a portion of these users will see yet another jump in price.

As one might expect from an international program, not all of the price increases (much less the prices themselves) are exactly equal. Note that not every option will see changes. As an example, Japan's 1-month and 3-month subscription tiers will be more expensive but the 12-month subscription tier will remain at its current price.

We haven't yet heard anything about an increase in the PlayStation Plus price for America, but it could very well be a possibility. Whether you're in America, Europe, or elsewhere, it may be a good time to purchase a large block of subscription time before the cost goes up for good.
