Unrailed! will have players working together and using strategy, communication, and coordination in order to build tracks for a train that will not stop for anything. Players will have to plan ahead to cut down trees and rocks, avoid hazards, and upgrade the train with new wagons while fending off any creatures that may try to interfere. Up to four players will be able to play in co-op, along with an Endless mode where one mistake means that the journey is over, or a duo mode where teams will work together to get their train to the station before their rivals.
As a nice bonus, anyone who tested Unrailed! during the closed beta will receive the game for free as a thank-you from Daedalic Entertainment and Indoor Astronaut:
The feedback provided by players in closed beta was invaluable to the game’s development, and the team will continue to work with the community on new features, improvements, fixes and more throughout early access. For those interested in the title, be sure to check out Unrailed!'s Discord and Steam page.
Unrailed! is out on Steam's Early Access for $16.99, and will fully release within 3-6 months.
Quick Take:
This sounds really cool. Offline co-op is awesome to see on PC, and the duo mode is something I could see myself playing with a friend. The gameplay loop doesn't look too challenging, which great for non-gamers who might want to give this game a try. This came out of nowhere, and I'll be watching this game's progress with great interest going forward. What do you think of this announcement? Are you interested in offline co-op games on PC?
